Listen To What “Calls” To You

We nearly took a left…and missed the most amazing drive in the American southwest.

I’m writing this post from a hotel room just outside of Moab, Utah. We’ve just arrived after a long drive through the most epic and wondrous scenery I’ve ever seen. For hours, we were surrounded by red rocks, remarkable cliffs and stunning mesas.

Our day started in snowy Bryce Canyon (see pic below) and ended here just north of Moab. In between? Marvels.

Here’s the rub.

We nearly took “the faster route”. We nearly went the freeway, largely due to the road conditions here being a bit slick this am due to an overnight snow. But, both my wife and I felt – intuitively – that the longer way, including Hwy 12 (which we now know is remarkable), was the route to take. It went against common sense, but came from some other place…deeper within. Call it a longing for adventure, or a “call” to something truly magical.

What calls to you ? A trip perhaps? A girl (or guy) you like? A business venture? A risk? A chance?

Whatever it is…whatever calls to you…DO IT. Magic awaits.

Every time I go for it, from the smaller moves like going right and winding my way through spectacular southern Utah to quitting a job and starting a new business, I’m always supported. It might not look the way I thought it would look, but it always works out and – usually – turns out BETTER than I thought it would.

The universe is a friendly place, and it speaks to you through the heart, through the intuition, through your gut. Have some faith and follow what calls to you.

So, whatever that is…follow it. It isn’t going away, and it is trying (often desperately) to save you from a life of mediocrity into something truly inspired, expansive and filled with magic.
